Conservatives Manifesto – Picture Id to Vote?

As you will have seen by now all political parties have launched their Manifestos. What has become evident is the continued bias nature of western media, which tends to favour a left view of politics.

Over the next couple of posts I intend to tell you in a nutshell what each party has on offer.

However, one thing that I have seem in the media and which had been shared alot, is something in the Conservative Manifesto. Of more to the point something that is not actually in their manifesto.

“You will need photo ID in the future to vote”

The Truth

Whilst the Conservatives do say they intend to combat voter fraud, requiring in the future voters to have valid ID before voting. Their manifesto does not mention photo ID. It does mention ID which if it stops voter fraud, I say is a good thing.

“We will legislate to ensure that a form of identification must be presented before voting, to reform postal voting and to improve other aspects of the elections process to ensure that our elections are the most secure in the world”

Whilst the exact method has yet to be released, it is likely to be some form of photo ID. Before you start screaming about not having a driving license, passport etc. I can guarantee as long as you are legally allowed to vote, a system will be in place to let you do this.

But in short, the Conservative manifesto does not mention photo ID at all. So my message to the media and people is before you write stuff, read stuff.
